Wislo is a product of Tarlo LLC (doing business as "Wislo"). In this Policy, "Wislo," "we," "us," and "our" mean Tarlo LLC dba Wislo.
Effective date: July 15, 2026 Last updated: July 15, 2026
We built Wislo for small business owners — many of them immigrants who are trusting us with the money side of a business they've worked hard to build. We take that trust seriously. This Policy explains, in plain language, what information Wislo collects, why, who we share it with, and the control you have over it.
1. The short version
- You use Wislo by chatting on WhatsApp. We collect the messages, photos, and voice notes you send, plus the business details you give us at signup.
- We use that information to run the service for you — recording your money, tracking who owes you, sending reminders and payment links, and preparing simple summaries.
- To do this, some of your information passes through trusted providers: Meta/WhatsApp (to send and receive messages), AI providers (to understand your messages, read receipt photos, and transcribe voice notes), and Stripe (to bill your subscription and process payments you collect).
- We never see or store your full card number — Stripe handles that.
- We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it to advertise to you.
- You can ask us to export or delete your data at any time.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Signup details: your business type, business name, business address, EIN or tax ID, the email address you provide, and a PIN you choose (we store only a scrambled/hashed version of the PIN, never the PIN itself).
- Your WhatsApp identity: your phone number and/or WhatsApp username, and your WhatsApp display name, so we know who is messaging and can reach you.
- What you send in chat: text messages, photos (such as receipts and product images), and voice notes.
- The business information Wislo records for you: transactions (money in and out), categories, who owes you and how much, your customers' or suppliers' names and — when you provide them — their contact numbers, your stock items, and tasks.
Information we generate or collect automatically
- Usage and service data: message timestamps, which features you use, confidence scores from our understanding step, a log of messages we send on your behalf (for compliance), your plan, trial and subscription status, and error/diagnostic logs.
- Billing status from Stripe (for example, whether a payment succeeded) — but not your full card number.
We only ask for what the service needs. The EIN and business address, for example, are collected to support billing, payment collection, and your tax-summary features.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- run Wislo's core features — record your money, track receivables, manage stock and tasks, and prepare your summaries;
- read receipt photos and transcribe voice notes so you don't have to type;
- send messages you ask us to send (reminders, payment links, product photos) and send you service messages (trial-ending notices, alerts);
- process your subscription and, when you use it, your customers' card payments;
- keep the service secure, prevent fraud and abuse, debug problems, and improve how Wislo understands messages; and
- comply with the law and enforce our Terms.
4. Who we share information with
We share information only with the providers and parties needed to run Wislo, and only as needed. We do not sell your personal information, and we don't share it for anyone's advertising.
Service providers that process your data for us:
| Provider | What it does | What it processes |
|---|---|---|
| Meta Platforms (WhatsApp Business Platform) | Sends and receives your messages | Your WhatsApp identity, message content, media, phone numbers of people you message |
| Anthropic (Claude) | Understands your messages, reads receipt photos, and helps translate replies | The text and images relevant to that request |
| OpenAI (Whisper) or a comparable speech-to-text provider | Turns your voice notes into text | The audio of the voice note |
| Stripe | Bills your subscription and processes pay-by-link payments (via Stripe Connect) | Your billing details, payment amounts; your customers' card details go directly to Stripe |
| Hosting & infrastructure | Runs and stores the app and its database and backups | The data described in this Policy, stored securely |
These providers are bound by their own terms and privacy commitments and are permitted to use your information only to provide their service to us — not for their own unrelated purposes. We may change providers over time (Wislo is built so a provider can be swapped); we'll keep this list current.
Other sharing:
- The people you message. When you direct Wislo to remind a customer or send a payment link, that person receives the message and the information it contains (for example, an amount owed). You control what you ask us to send.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information if the law requires it, to respond to lawful requests, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Wislo, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers. If Tarlo LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may transfer as part of that deal; we'll require it stay protected under this Policy.
5. A note about AI
Wislo uses AI to understand your messages, read receipts, and transcribe voice notes. This is done to give you the feature you asked for. The AI providers we use act as our processors and don't use your business data to train their public models beyond what's needed to serve your request, consistent with their terms. AI can make mistakes — please review Wislo's numbers and categories, and never rely on them alone for taxes or important decisions.
6. How we protect your information
- Your PIN is stored only as a salted, hashed value — we can't read it back.
- We never store your full card number; that's handled by Stripe.
- Sensitive actions (like changing your number, exporting, or deleting) require step-up verification, and dormant accounts are re-verified.
- We limit who can access production data and keep an audit log of messages sent on your behalf.
- We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information.
No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security — but we work hard to protect your data and to be honest with you if something goes wrong.
7. How long we keep your information
We keep your information while your account is active so the service works for you. If you delete your account, we delete your data (see below). We may keep limited information longer where we need to — for example, to meet legal, tax, or anti-fraud obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our Terms — and routine backups age out on a schedule.
8. Your choices and rights
- Export. Ask Wislo to export your data and we'll provide it in a machine-readable file (secrets like your PIN excluded).
- Delete. Ask Wislo to delete your account and data. We confirm deletion in two steps so it can't happen by accident; once completed it's permanent, subject to the limited legal retention above.
- Correct. You can correct your business details and any entry directly in chat.
- Opt out of reminders. Anyone we message on your behalf can reply "stop" to stop receiving messages, and you can mute or turn off reminders per customer.
- Regional rights. Depending on where you live (for example, under California or other state privacy laws), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or limit the use of your personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising them. To make a request, contact us at the address below. We honor these rights regardless of your immigration status.
9. Children
Wislo is for businesses and isn't directed to anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll remove it.
10. International users
Wislo is operated from the United States, and your information is processed and stored in the U.S. and by providers that may operate elsewhere. If you use Wislo, you understand your information is handled in the U.S. under U.S. law.
11. Immigration status
We collect information to run your business tools — not to track your immigration status. We do not ask for or require immigration status, and we don't share your information with authorities except where the law genuinely requires it (for example, a valid legal order). We mention this plainly because many of the owners we serve want to know.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy. If we make material changes, we'll notify you (for example, by message or email) before they take effect and update the "Last updated" date above.
